How will my school benefit from RATL? 

• Schools will engage in strategic partnerships with other schools committed to raising achievement and transforming their learning environments. 
• Schools will have ongoing support to realise their aims and have access to practical as well as helpful online services and tools.

What does the RATL program involve? 

RATL conference

The project begins with a two day residential conference, which includes:

• an inspirational keynote
• an interactive self-review session
• an opportunity to engage with data
• school-led sharing and evaluating practice sessions (led initially by the mentor schools)
• introduction to the online portal linking participating schools

RATL study tour

All schools participating in RATL are invited on the 2008 RATL study tour to Paris and England, where they can join with teachers from England visits to high performing schools who have used RATL to improve standards.

Highlights also include visits to UNESCO, OECD, and NCSL.

The remainder of the year's program:

• Focuses on individual whole-school improvement through working with groups of schools 
• Utilises the individual school’s performance data to inform practice, raise expectations and improve outcomes, incorporating the successful work of Professor David Jesson
• Focuses on research and development, incorporating the work of leading academics, to inform innovation and change
• Develops a strategic longer-term approach that unleashes potential and motivates schools
• Enables the development of strategic partnerships to share effective practice
• Enables schools to be part of a wider network in order to combine efforts and resources towards  transformation
