Providing educational experiences for students that are enriched with opportunities and challenges requires that we change existing structures and systems. This workshop will give insights into schools that have already gone through this process. It will look at the challenges and successes for both students and staff. The one workshop will cover the following:
'Excellent presentations from David Carter and Paul Hynes helped with strategic direction and next steps.'
A keynote presentation will be provided by David Carter, Principal of John Cabot CTC who will discuss the ways in which the college has introduced curriculum pathways, an extended school day and learning to learn in order to raise standards. He will also look at how new approaches to the support of students has assisted their journey towards personalisation.
Showcases from schools and their VLE providers will show how new technology can be embedded into learning activities to engage students and raise achievement. The practical steps required to establish a VLE will also be discussed in these sessions.
