We are global citizens. What happens in one part of the planet sooner or later affects the rest of the planet. We all need clean air, water, food and space from which to obtain the materials and energy we need to live.
Our new technologies allow us to communicate and to see the planet as one global whole. As a global society we need to resolve the conflicts which competition for resources brings. We have begun to understand the scope and scale of the challenges this brings to humanity. The way we use the globe's resources will have to change in response to the challenges of water, food, energy supply and living space. Societies and economies locally and globally will have to transform themselves to thrive.
With so many complicated and interconnected challenges, how can we focus on the key issues we must face today to be ready for tomorrow?
