Connecting learners in a global world: why is this important?

This online conference is an opportunity to debate connecting learners in a global world. Inherent to this is globalisation and preparing students for the 21st century and what this means for both your students and your staff.

Questions:

• In an environment where results are important, how can you justify time spent on helping students become global citizens?
• How can schools help children with complex learning needs become global citizens?
• How can we make globalisation meaningful for students and staff in remote areas of the world?
• How do we help children to come to terms with globalisation?
• What are the new approaches to pedagogy, assessment and teaching and learning that we need in the successful 21st century school?
• What are the areas in your school where ‘default settings’ (i.e. the traditional way of doing things), need to be changed and agreed?
• What do we need to do/are doing to ensure the curriculum of the 21st century is personalised, diverse and has choice and variety as key features?
• How do we change the culture of learning to include a higher level of co-construction by teacher and student?
