The following criteria are used to select case studies to be featured on the iNet website and other Specialist Schools and Academies Trust websites.

• Is the activity described of potential value to other schools, colleges or universities? A good case study will contain enough information about the context and focus of activity to be meaningful to an outside audience.
• Does the case study have relevance in terms of wider educational issues at the present time, eg the use of student data, personalised learning, globalisation, classroom behaviour?
• Does a line or two about the school help readers judge its relevance to their own context?
• Are there helpful pointers for anyone considering the activity for their own school? What were the barriers to success? What might you do differently another time?
• Do you say enough about the issue the activity was aiming to address (ie the specific educational context within your school)?
• Does the case study briefly indicate how the activity was a success, and against what objectives?
• How unusual is the activity? If elements of it may be familiar to other schools, does the case study focus on its more distinctive features?
• Does the 'story' cover the kinds of question you can imagine readers wanting to ask? (Commonly these might include 'What are the resource implications? What was the student:teacher ratio? Would it be sustainable over time?')
• Is there visual appeal in the form of two or three photographs?
• The case study should be between 600-800 words. (Longer case studies will be edited before being featured on the website)
